Announcement
Last chance to join us for our Iftar Meal on Friday 6 March at 5pm!
An Iftar meal is one which is eaten by Muslims at sunset in order to break the fast during Ramadan. It is the main meal for those who are fasting. During the month of Ramadan, Muslims will fast during daylight hours as an act of dedication to their faith, but also to empathise with those who are less fortunate within society.

On Friday 6 March, students and their families are once again invited to attend the School at 5pm to share a meal with us. This event is open to both Muslims and non-Muslims as an inclusive initiative to share culture.
Some food will be provided by the school canteen at no cost. However, we encourage you to bring your own food to add to the communal meal. This way everyone gets the opportunity to sample a range of food from different traditions. As we are a nut free school, please ensure that your ingredients do not contain any. It would also be helpful to label your dishes so that we can meet dietary requirements, ensuring you clearly label if they are Halal.

Students will be delivering short presentations around the theme of Ramadan. If your son or daughter would like to contribute, then please encourage them to speak to Mrs Bourner, Assistant Headteacher, directly. There will also be an opportunity for prayer for those who wish to participate at the end of the event. Please bring your own prayer mats. Non-Muslims who wish to join the prayer will need to bring a head covering. The event is expected to end no later than 7pm.
If you would like to attend, please complete the online form which can be found at: Iftar Meal – Fill out form by Monday 2 March at the very latest. Please indicate on the form how many people you will be bringing, if there are any dietary requirements and which dishes you will be preparing to bring along.
Ramadan Mubarak!
