Temporary Teaching Assistants - TTO + 1 SDD
BCAT is a small, but highly ambitious Academy Trust consisting of 3 secondary schools in Kent, Barton Court Grammar School, The Charles Dickens School and the new free school, Barton Manor School.
Barton Court Grammar School (BCGS) is a state, selective, co-educational school with a strong reputation for its high academic standards and its caring and supportive ethos. The School is an accredited ‘Advanced Thinking School’ and is also the lead school of Barton Court Academy Trust (BCAT). The Charles Dickens School (CDS), a state, non-selective, co-educational secondary school joined BCAT on 1 March 2017 and Barton Manor School (BMS), our free school, which is also a non-selective co-educational secondary school opened in September 2022 to Year 7.
The School is committed to excellence in professional development and an extensive well-being programme is in place with many benefits including reduced gym membership at CCCU, event afternoons throughout the year and other benefits offered by BCAT and Kent Rewards.
Our brand new free School is looking for two exceptional Teaching Assistants to work with classroom teachers to support the delivery of quality teaching and learning and to help raise standards of achievement for all students. Candidates will also be required to deliver support programmes that enable all students to access the curriculum and will be responsible to the SENCO.
Experience of working with young people or in a school environment is desirable with the ability to relate well to children and communicate diplomatically to adults. Candidates should be motivated, proactive, approachable, resilient and a good listener.
This is a term time only role with one staff development day.
Hours are 8.40am-3.10pm, Monday to Friday to include a 20 minute unpaid break and 40 minutes unpaid lunch break. 27.5 hours in total.
In line with KCSIE 2022 guidance, as part of the shortlisting process, the Trust reserves the right to conduct an online search on shortlisted candidates as part of our due diligence and any relevant information found concerning a candidate's suitability to work with children will be discussed at interview stage.
