BCAT is a small, but highly ambitious Academy Trust consisting of 3 secondary schools in Kent, Barton Court Grammar School, The Charles Dickens School and the new free school, Barton Manor School.

Barton Court Grammar School (BCGS) is a state, selective, co-educational school with a strong reputation for its high academic standards and its caring and supportive ethos. The School is an accredited ‘Advanced Thinking School’ and is also the lead school of Barton Court Academy Trust (BCAT). The Charles Dickens School (CDS), a state, non-selective, co-educational secondary school joined BCAT on 1 March 2017 and Barton Manor School (BMS), our free school, which is also a non-selective co-educational secondary school opened in September 2022 to Year 7.

The Post

Required for 1 September 2023, the Trustees are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, Mathematics Teacher to teach  in our free school, which opened to Year 7 only in September 2022. A TLR2c for 2nd in charge at KS3 may be available for the right candidate.

The ability to teach up to a higher tier at KS4 is essential and the ability to teach to A Level desirable. This post would suit an NQT or an experienced teacher looking for their first TLR.

The successful candidate will be a joining a team of highly experienced Mathematics Teachers at both Barton Manor School and Barton Court Grammar School and there may be an opportunity for the right candidate to teach at both schools, especially in the early years of opening. The TLR2c will progress to a TLR2b over time as the School grows and the level of responsibility increases.

The successful candidate should be able to deliver excellence in the classroom, providing innovative and inspirational teaching and learning.  This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified candidate to work with colleagues to particpate in a vibrant and outstanding department.  This post is suitable for an NQT.
