Barton Court Academy Trust (BCAT) is proud to be opening this brand new secondary school, a non-selective, co-educational, 11-18 years school called Barton Manor School (BMS) in September 2022 to Year 7 students. There will be 150 places open to Year 7 only in September 2022 and the new BMS building is sited on Spring Lane, Canterbury on the former Chaucer School site.
As part of its formal responsibilities, the Barton Court Academy Trust is required to consult with parents and carers, as well as the local community and other key stakeholders. This consultation process is being undertaken from 4 May 2021 at 9am and will end on 22 June 2021 at 9am.
The School’s brand new amazing state-of-the art design build will be open to 150 Year 7 students in September 2022 and the Trust believes this outstanding design, combined with an innovative curriculum, excellent teaching and learning, and strong pastoral care and guidance, will provide outstanding education for the local community for generations to come.
The consultation opens on Tuesday 4 May 2021 at 9am and will end on Tuesday 22 June 2021 at 9am.
This consultation process allows the Trust to seek the views of a wide range of stakeholders about the School and the educational provision we wish to offer.
We recognise that when stakeholders work well together they give the best life chances for children and young people. To this end, we look forward to engaging with and equipping local residents, leaders and groups to invest in the lives of children and families, and by doing so ensure that Barton Manor School remains at the heart of the community.
In our bid to develop a child-centred, family-focused and community-minded school, we are pleased to have this opportunity to consult widely with local residents and groups and, in so doing, begin the work of engaging the wider community in exciting conversations about the future of Barton Manor School.
We will offer a Virtual Consultation Evening on Tuesday 11 May at 6pm
In addition, we will provide a Frequently Asked Questions and Response page on this website and Facebook page to provide an open dialogue throughout the consultation process. Any questions can be sent to email@example.com or sent to Barton Manor Consultation c/o Barton Court Grammar School (see address at the start of this document).
We will gather views on our plans by providing a feedback form/questionnaire.
