BCAT is a small, but highly ambitious Academy Trust consisting of 3 secondary schools in Kent, Barton Court Grammar School, The Charles Dickens School and the new free school, Barton Manor School.

Barton Court Grammar School (BCGS) is a state, selective, co-educational school with a strong reputation for its high academic standards and its caring and supportive ethos. The School is an accredited ‘Advanced Thinking School’ and is also the lead school of Barton Court Academy Trust (BCAT). The Charles Dickens School (CDS), a state, non-selective, co-educational secondary school joined BCAT on 1 March 2017 and Barton Manor School (BMS), our free school, which is also a non-selective co-educational secondary school opens in September 2022 to Y7.

THE POST

Required for 1 September 2022, the Trustees are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, experienced PE teacher to teach PE in our brand new Free school, opening to Y7 in September 2022.

The ability to teach up to KS4 is essential and the ability to teach Dance at KS3 desirable. The successful candidate will be a joining a team of highly experienced PE teachers at Barton Court Grammar School and will be required to teach at both schools, especially in the early years of opening.

The TLR2b for Head of Year is available to the right candidate with prior experience of pastoral leadership.

The successful candidate should be able to deliver excellence in the classroom, providing innovative and inspirational teaching and learning.  This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to work with colleagues to build a vibrant and outstanding department.  This post is suitable for an experienced professional looking to further their expertise.

Preference for a female PE teacher exists to provide balance within the current teams at Barton Manor School and Barton Court Grammar School, however male teachers are welcome to apply.
