Barton Manor Students Visit the Imperial War Museum
Posted on: 13/11/2025As part of Cultural Capital Day 2, a number of Year 9 students spent the day at the Imperial War Museum in London, where they were immersed in powerful stories, fascinating artefacts and striking historical exhibits. From the moment they arrived, their curiosity was sparked – especially by the real-life objects, uniforms and planes on display.
A highlight of the day was the Holocaust Workshop, which offered a thoughtful and moving exploration of remembrance and human rights. Students also explored the World War I and World War II Galleries, where they saw trench reconstructions, Home Front artefacts and even wartime aircraft up close.
It was a day of discovery, reflection and excitement – a brilliant opportunity to build cultural capital and deepen historical understanding.
