Barton Manor School Achieves Artsmark Silver Award
Posted on: 29/04/2026Barton Manor School is delighted to announce that it has successfully achieved the Artsmark Silver Award, marking the completion of its first Artsmark journey and a significant milestone in the School’s commitment to arts, culture and creativity.
Artsmark, awarded by Arts Council England, recognises schools that demonstrate a strong and sustainable commitment to highâquality arts and cultural education. Every Artsmark Award is a significant achievement and securing Silver in the School’s first journey is a testament to the ambition, dedication and creativity of the whole school community.
As a new and growing school, Barton Manor began its Artsmark journey as a blank canvas. Over this period, the School has designed and implemented a bespoke, interconnected creative curriculum that supports learning across subjects and year groups. Assessors praised the School’s ambitious arts vision and the way creativity has been embedded into curriculum design, delivery and enrichment.
The Artsmark Assessor highlighted particular strengths in Values and Ethos, recognising the clear commitment to embedding highâquality arts and cultural provision across the School, as well as Curriculum Design and Delivery, commending the opportunity taken to create a creative curriculum from a fresh starting point.
The report also celebrated the development of the School’s enrichment programme, which now offers pupils regular opportunities in visual and performing arts through workshops, enrichment days and external partnerships. Engagement with these opportunities has continued to grow, demonstrating increasing pupil enthusiasm and participation.
Alongside this positive recognition, the feedback provides valuable next steps to further strengthen the School’s arts provision, including developing pupil leadership, expanding opportunities such as Arts Award and sharing best practice beyond the school community.
We would like to thank our Artsmark Lead, staff and pupils for their hard work, commitment and creativity. Achieving the Artsmark Silver Award is an achievement the School can be proud of and we look forward to building on this strong foundation as we continue to Aspire, Believe and Achieve.
